about me

Hi! I’m Cassidy Quinn Brettler, and I love – and do – a lot of things, including:

  • Reporting
  • Video blogging (about all kinds of random things, including sports, technology, social media, fitness…)
  • Podcasting
  • Sideline reporting
  • Sports (Go Seahawks! And when are we getting the Sonics back??)
  • Reporting on sports, general news, and technology
  • The Olympics and Paralympics (I reported at Vancouver 2010 &  London 2012, and am hoping to make it to some more Games in the future!)
  • All kinds of social media
  • New technology, finding new apps, and playing with nerdy gadgets
  • The internet (do I need to say it…?)
  • Multi-tasking

After graduating from Emerson College in May 2011, I stayed in Boston, where I ran the Digital Creative & Social Media for Boloco for two years (which, yes, involved eating a lot of free burritos). In 2012, I was the Super Bowl Reporter for the Ochocinco News Network (OCNN) at Super Bowl XLVI, was a contestant on The Rookie Bartender (an online reality show), reported for Mashable, and worked on the New Media & Website team at the London 2012 Olympic Games. I also won the Likeable Award for Most Likeable Vlogger (yes, that is a real award…). I was also selected as Virgin Atlantic’s Red Hot Reporter for the NFL International Series game in London!

I graduated with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism and Theater Studies: Performance (double-major). During my time at Emerson, I hosted and anchored many TV shows on Emerson Independent Video and the Emerson Channel, sideline reported at basketball and volleyball games for the Emerson Sports Network, video blogged for the EVVY Awards, and acted/sang/danced in multiple productions, onstage and on the screen. I was also a sister of the Beta Alpha chapter of Alpha Epsilon Phi, and held the positions of Merchandising Chair and PR Chair during my time in the sorority. I was also nominated 3 times for an EVVY Award for Outstanding Video Blogger in 2011, and many of the TV shows I worked on as a producer or on-air talent won Associated Press Awards, EMMY Awards, and EVVY Awards.

I have also reported at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, interned at NBC News (Los Angeles), interned at Q13 Fox News (Seattle), hosted a documentary for Seattle Opera, video blogged and written for HerCampus.com, and video blogged at Super Bowl XLV.

I am always tweeting & instagramming, and I always have a camera on me (whether it’s my phone or one of my 5 million cameras) for all those vloggable moments. And I’m always balancing being professional and having fun – I don’t think the 2 traits are exclusive!

You can figure out exactly what kind of person I am, my personality, my professionalism, and my talents by checking out my Twitter stream and YouTube channel on the right side of this page.

But, of course, if you want to know more about me, or have any questions, etc., feel free to Contact Me through any of the various ways on the interwebs…!
